For generations, the Heddon Torpedo series of lures has been in anglers’ tackleboxes. The Heddon Torpedos are considered to be amongst the most widely used of all topwater lures. There are several colour choices for the Torpedos, and there are 3 distinct types or sizes. To start, there is the Teeny Torpedo, which is idea for light tackle. The Torpedo lures mimic wounded baitfish fluttering on the top of the water. Of course, the big predator fish see this as an easy meal ticket and surely don’t want it to go to waste. Also, they don’t want any other hungry fish to get to it first so they attack it with a vengeance. These Torpedos can be cast quite the distance as well. They have an aerodynamic design allowing them to fly through the air and drop in the hot spots.

A bit about Heddon lures in general. Mr. James Heddon is the founder of the Heddon lure company and accredited with creating the first artificial fishing lure.
